The 'Call Us First' team, in partnership with the National Residential Landlords Association (NRLA), provided fundamental training events to private landlords through a face-to-face course earlier this month.
The training course covered the key aspects of ‘must know’ information and awareness, giving landlords the confidence to know that they are managing their tenants and property in a responsible way.
Key elements of the course included:
Anthony Walker, Service Manager – Homelessness, said, "Working with the National Residential Landlord Association has allowed us to provide bespoke training and support to our landlords.
“This training covered a wide range of details about the fundamentals of being a landlord and what it entails. Based on the success of this training, I encourage more landlords to get involved whether he/she is a new landlord or with many years’ experiences, help and training from 'Call Us First' team can support you. Regulations surrounding landlords and the private sector are always changing, keeping up to date with the fundamentals allows landlords to be fully prepared.”
This is a challenging time for the private rental sector, particularly with the Renters' Rights Bill bringing in what has been termed seismic change.
It was important that the 'Call Us First' team provided the opportunity for landlords and others involved in letting properties to find out about the support and guidance available from their local Council and also gain valuable sector information and insights. The feedback received by the team is very positive and will take forward the helpful suggestions made for planning future events.
