Tenant Information

Is your landlord or letting agent accredited with Wolverhampton RwC Accreditation scheme?

If you are renting a property from a landlord or letting agent you can check on our website here to see if they are accredited. Any landlord or letting agent accredited by us have signed a code of conduct and have declared that they are a Fit and Proper person. The scheme requires members to act reasonably and responsibly towards tenants to ensure that the properties are of a good standard and well maintained. If your landlord or letting agent is not on the list, give them a call and ask if they would join.

If your landlord or letting agent is accredited with us but you feel they are not living up to the code of conduct please contact us and we will look into the matter further.

Ask for advice when you need it

Recent laws have introduced better protection from bad housing and most people find good landlords. However, a few will have bad experiences and need expert advice.

Contact the Council's Private Sector Housing team on 01902 551155 for advice and information about renting a home from a private landlord. Alternatively further information can be found from Shelter or Citizens Advice.
